How to Use the Course
This online course provides 9.0 hours of CME units, delivered through 13 modules. We suggest that you begin with the introductory modules and work systematically through the program.
We recognize that some physicians will want to take the entire course in order to become a qualifying physician to dispense or prescribe certain narcotic medications for maintenance or detoxification of opiate-dependent patients. In contrast, some physicians will want to take only selected modules in order to receive a few CME units or to increase their knowledge in specific areas.
To accommodate these variations, once you have registered, you can work through individual modules. At the end of each module, you will be prompted to either take the CME posttest for that module or move to the next module. The database for this course will "remember" which modules you have worked through. The CME posttest can be taken after the completion of each module or at the end of completing all modules. CME posttest questions will only be available for those modules that you have completed. After completing each posttest, you must click on the "Congratulations" link to record your successful completion of that module's posttest. Please do not exit the posttest or the course without clicking on that link.
This course includes exhibits, such as tables, charts, and screening instruments. Some of the exhibits are prepared in a format that is viewable and printable using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded free of charge.
