About the Danya Institute
The Danya Institute seeks to promote the health, education, and well-being of individuals and communities. The Danya Institute's mission is to promote the professional development of health care professionals and to enhance service delivery systems nationwide through the transfer of empirically based research into practice.
The Danya Institute is staffed by a team of experienced professionals who bring to the organization a dedication and understanding of addiction treatment and prevention services. The staff has experience providing technical assistance and training in substance abuse treatment, as well as managing a pool of expert consultants. The staff has organized and implemented dozens of training workshops, conferences, symposiums, and technical assistance events around the country on a wide range of topics in addiction treatment and behavioral health.
The Institute's expertise includes extensive knowledge of professional development and workforce issues as they relate to the substance abuse field. The staff has developed curricula, delivered training, facilitated meetings, conducted surveys and worked on policy issues.
The Danya Institute manages the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center (Central East), which covers Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and New Jersey. The Central East focuses on improving the skills, knowledge and attitudes of addiction treatment professionals, and on providing support to the states in our region on issues related to workforce and professional development.
