Goals and Objectives

The primary goals of this course are to:

  • Increase your knowledge about welfare reform and the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program


  • Improve your skills to work with addiction treatment clients who participate in welfare reform and receive TANF


  • Increase your understanding of the Federal requirements of the TANF program and learn how your State has implemented the Federal requirements


  • Learn how to track clients' progress through the welfare reform system


  • Learn about fundamental issues that affect the lives of addicted clients participating in welfare


  • Learn about critical problems that will need to be faced and addressed by addiction professionals with welfare reform clients.
